| Description | John Calvi is coming to Lake Forest Meeting on Friday, April 16 to talk about QUIT (Quaker Initiative to end Torture). We will get to know John with a potluck dinner at 6:30 pm followed by the program at 7:30. John will discuss the history of the use of torture and where we are now as we try to end torture.
John Calvi was the founder of QUIT and convener from 2005 to June 2007. The purpose is to raise awareness about state-sponsored torture and cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment. Totally abolish such practices. Assist all those damaged by such practices.
Lake Forest Meetinghouse is located at 101 W. Old Elm Roads, Lake Forest, IL 60045. (Just west of US 41, Southeast corner of Old Elm and Ridge Roads). The meetinghouse phone number is 847/234-8410. RSVPs are helpful but not required.
