We really like the meetinghouse.
\n\tWe don”t mind an occasional mouse.
\n\tWe like being out on the plains.
\n\tWe don”t really mind if it rains
\n\t\u2026that much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we look out every morn
\n\tThere are fields and fields and fields of corn.
\n\tThe grounds have really come alive
\n\tEvery year since 1875.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We know the history of George Fox.
\n\tHe had leather britches and probably no socks.
\n\tOn his head were shaggy locks.
\n\tIf you want to know more, then you should ask John Knox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday is the Plummer Lecture,
\n\tThat”s a fact, it”s no conjecture,
\n\tWe hear about all that”s fair
\n\tIn the spiritual journey of a Friend with gray hair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We gather for the business meeting,
\n\tMuch to do, time is fleeting,
\n\tWe read reports to hear the fine bits,
\n\tWe discern for three hours then approve the minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One committee, two committees,
\n\tAd hoc committees, standing committees,
\n\tThis one likes an electric car.
\n\tThis one teaches children to really star.
\n\tMy! What a lot of committees there are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We”re working on our Faith and Practice.
\n\tNow listen to the committee”s dear wish
\n\tThat soon the printing presses run
\n\tAnd the committee will be finally done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Wednesday, the expenses shall
\n\tBe reported by Treasurer Val,
\n\tPay attention if perchance,
\n\tThe report puts the fun in “fun-ance”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Environmental Concerns, if you please,
\n\tThey will speak for the trees
\n\tSpecifically, for the Osage Orange
\n\tOh no! Nothing rhymes with orange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The children gather together each day,
\n\tAnd find all different things to play
\n\tThough it might be out on a limb
\n\tI think they like to go for a swim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Join worship sharing or a workshop
\n\tOr see the area on a bicycle hop
\n\tAnd listen please with some pity
\n\tIf you are called by the Nominating Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We sense strongly the Holy Spirit,
\n\tWe welcome this; we don”t fear it
\n\tIn the heat we have perspired
\n\tBut all in all, we are inspired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, if this gathering gave much joy
\n\tRemember this, it”s no ploy
\n\tOn June 19-23 of next year
