Terms and Conditions for ILYM Social Network
Effective date: June 30, 2022
These terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) govern the use of the ILYM Social Network (the “Site”). The Site is owned and operated by Illinois Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (ILYM) and is under the care of the Publications and Distribution Committee of ILYM. This a social network site.
By using the Site, you indicate that you have read and understand these Terms and Conditions and agree to abide by them at all times.
Intellectual Property
When you published and made available content on the Site, you grant ILYM a non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free, worldwide license for the content. This content is then made accessible though the site to others for use under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. This includes, but is not limited to images, text, logos, documents, downloadable files, and anything that contributes to the composition of the Site. Content published may be used by ILYM for ILYM promotional and publication purposes.
Age Restriction
The minimum age to use the Site is 13 years old. Users under 13 years of age may use the Site with permission of their parent or guardian. The parent or guardian should inform the Site administrator at contact information provided below. By using this Site, users agree that they are over 13 years old or if under 13 years old have permission of their parent or guardian. ILYM does not assume any legal responsibility for false statements about age or permission.
Acceptable Use
As a user of the Site, you agree to use the Site legally, not to use the Site for illegal purposes, and not to:

Harass or mistreat other users of the Site;

Violate the rights of other users of the Site;

Violate the intellectual property rights of the Site owners or any third part to the Site; or

Post any material that may be deemed inappropriate or offensive.
The Site focuses on the life, work, programs, and projects of Illinois Yearly Meeting, its constituent meetings and worship groups, and the members/attenders of those meetings and worship groups, as well as the work and programs of affiliated organizations and wider Quaker organizations. While focused on ILYM Friends, it is open to all who what to engage in this scope of connection and communication. Posts outside of this scope of communications may be deleted.
If ILYM believes you are using the Site illegally or in a manner that violates these Terms and Conditions, ILYM reserves the right to limit, suspend or terminate your access to the Site. ILYM also reserve the right to take any legal steps necessary to prevent you from accessing the Site.

Public comments
By posting publicly on the Site, you agree not to act illegally or violate these Terms and Conditions.
Content published may be used by ILYM for ILYM promotional and publication purposes.
Accounts
When you create an account on the Site, you agree to the following:

You are solely responsible for your account and the security and privacy of your account, including passwords or sensitive information attached to that account; and

All personal information you provide to ILYM through your account is up to date, accurate, and truthful and that you will update your personal information if it changes.
ILYM reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you are using the Site illegally or if you violate these Terms and Conditions.
User Goods and Services
The Site does not allow users to sell or promote goods and services. Quaker-related paid advertisements may be accepted and posted in a designated block (information available from contact information below).
Announcements about Quaker events (free or with registration fees) and links to third-party events registration/information pages may be posted.
ILYM cannot guarantee the quality or accuracy of such events/posts or paid advertisements. If ILYM is made aware that a user is violating these Terms and Conditions, ILYM reserve the right to suspend or prohibit the user from the Site.
Links to Other Websites
The Site contains links to third-party websites that ILYM does not control. ILYM is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party website or service linked to on the Site. It is your responsibility to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of these third-party websites before using these sites.
Limitation of Liability
ILYM and its officers, employees, volunteers and affiliates will not be liable for any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses including legal fees from your use of the Site.
Indemnity
Except where prohibited by law, by using this Site you indemnify and hold harmless ILYM, its officers, employees, volunteers and affiliates from any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses including legal fees arising out of your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms and Conditions.
Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
Severability
If at any time any of the provisions set forth in these Terms and Conditions are found to be inconsistent or invalid under applicable laws, those provisions will be deemed void and will be removed from these Terms and Conditions. All other provisions will not be affect by the removal and the rest of these Terms and Conditions will still be considered valid.
Changes
These Terms and Conditions may be amended from time to time in order to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to the way ILYM operates the Site and the way ILYM expects users to behave on the Site. ILYM will notify users by email or post a notice on the Site regarding changes to these Terms and Conditions.
